A pretty new necklace isn’t going to make every woman happy. To get the perfect gift for your girlfriend, you really need to know what she likes.  Before we get to the gift ideas, here are a few quick tips to help you figure out which one is right for your girlfriend.

  • Know her passion.
  • Know what she has.
  • Know what her hobbies are.
  • Know what she doesn’t like.
All women are different. Some girls are passionate about music, some are passionate about clothes, some are passionate about books and some are passionate about animals. Most girls are pretty vocal about the things they like to do for fun and are even more vocal about the things they don’t like. Listen to your girlfriend when she talks. The clues to find the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your girlfriend are there.

For the Music Lover

While it might seem like there’s no better Valentine’s Day gift for a girl that loves music than, well, music but buying a girl music can be difficult, especially if she’s a music fanatic. If the music lover in your life is really into a particular musician, there’s a fairly good chance she already has their complete discography. It’s also possible she could be over that musician and on to the next one by the time Valentine’s Day rolls around. Instead, consider one of the gifts below.

Skull Candy Headphones: Skull Candy headphones are fantastic. They’re durable, offer great sound, work with nearly any device and come in a wide range of colors and styles. It you want to get your girlfriend headphones she’ll like, pay attention to what she uses now. There are different types of headphones. I personally prefer over the ear headphones to earbuds but some swear by the buds. Ear buds tend to be a little less expensive but some also complain that they’re uncomfortable. Which one you get will depend on what your girl prefers. I personally am a big fan of these pink and black lowrider headphones and these black and red Paul Frank devil headphones but these pink INK’d earbuds might be a better choice if your girl is a fan of buds.

Custom Guitar Pics or Straps: If your girl is more than just a music lover but is also a musician, you can’t go wrong with buying her a gift for her guitar. Spare guitar strings always come in handy so they make perhaps not a romantic, but very thoughtful gift. If you’re willing to spend a little more money, you could always buy her a new case. A friend of mine is dating a musician and last year, he gave her a new guitar case stuffed with strings, picks, song books and a custom strap for Valentine’s Day. It cost him a pretty penny but was very well received. If you’re looking for a cheaper option, get her a set of guitar pics with her favorite musician’s logo on them or have pics or straps custom made for her. She’ll appreciate the effort and thought behind the gift.

For the Craft Lover

If your girl is into arts and crafts she is likely creative and likes to make things with her own two hands. Your gift should focus on that because that’s where her passion lies. There are a lot of options for the craft loving girl in your life but you don’t necessarily have to focus on the craft she’s most interested in at the time. Here are a few Valentine’s Day gift ideas for girls who love crafts.

Crafting Supplies: One of the most thoughtful gifts you can give a girl who loves crafts is a basket filled with the crafting supplies she uses most often. In order to do this, you’ll need to pay attention to what craft she’s interested in and figure out what kind of supplies she uses for that craft. In all honesty, it won’t matter if you get all of the right things. What makes this gift so special is the thought that goes into it.

Patterns and Supplies for a New Craft: Just because your girl loves knitting doesn’t mean your gift has to be restricted to knitting supplies. There are lots of related crafts out there for just about anything your girl could be interested in. Do a little search online or ask friends who have the same interests are your girlfriend to see if there is anything else similar to what your girl is interested in that you could introduce her too. She’ll appreciate the time and effort and might find something new she enjoys doing. The real gift that keeps on giving. Check out this site for ideas to get you started.

The Homebody

Not all girls like to go out and hit the clubs in their free time. There are a lot of girls out there, in fact, who are more content to stay at home and spend their nights cuddled up on the couch watching television. If that’s the case with your girl, here are some great gift ideas that she’ll absolutely love.

The Nuddle Blanket for Adults: The Nuddle Blanket is a great Valentine’s Day gift idea for the girl in your life that likes to relax. Basically, it’s a warm, plush blanket with arm holes, a pocket for warming hands and a pouch for feet at the bottom making it comfortable, convenient and perfect for snuggling up on the couch and watching television. I’m partial to the cream colored Nuddle Blanket but there are a variety of colors to choose from. Your girl will be thrilled with this one.

The Ultimate Movie Night Package: So your girl likes to stay in with a good movie? Get her a gift that allows you to enjoy that together. You don’t have to run out and buy her a big screen television although she probably wouldn’t mind. Instead you can go the less expensive route. Get her a season pass to her favorite television show on Amazon or a gift certificate for her favorite movie rental place. Top it off with a popcorn maker so you can enjoy delicious (and healthy) fresh popped popcorn from the comfort of her living room. My husband got me this popcorn maker for Christmas and I’ve used nearly every night since then.

The Athletic Girl

While it may be tempting to buy the athletic girl in your life a new pair of workout sneakers, an exercise bike or a gym membership for Valentine’s Day, chances are she already has all of that stuff. You need to get creative. Think of things related to fitness that might appeal to her. It can be hard to pick a great Valentine’s Day gift for athletic girls but luckily, I have some ideas.

An MP3 Player with a Twist: Your girl probably already has an mp3 player but you might want to consider helping her upgrade to something more convenient while adding a special romantic twist. You don’t really need anything fancy. Anything with a belt clip works fine. Based on the reviews, I’d recommend this model as it appears to have a pretty sturdy clip. It also comes in a variety of colors so you should be able to find something your girl will like. To make this gift really stand out though, don’t give it to her in the box it came in. Instead, fill it with her favorite workout music for her so all she has to do is turn it on. If you want to spend a little more money, go for a model that has picture storage and put some pictures of the two of you together on it. She’ll love it.

A Weekend Away Together: If fitness is something you both enjoy, plan a weekend away together to a destination that affords you lots of opportunities to get outside and do athletic things together. Whether it’s hiking, mountain biking, swimming or rafting, you’ll be giving her a gift that indulges her love of fitness and also giving the two of you the chance to spend some quality time together. If you’re not really the athletic type, you can always book the trip for her and one of her girlfriends.
