4 Tips to Finding the Perfect Armchair Recliner

Armchair recliners are by far the most popular type of recliner available today, but if you’re in the market to buy one, how can you find the perfect chair? With so many different features, styles and prices to choose from, it’s hard to know what you should be looking for. If you’ve been wondering how to find the perfect armchairs recliners, we’ve got 4 tips to help you get started on your search.

1) Check the dimensions

Checking the dimensions of a reclining chair is important to making sure that you have enough space in your home. It is also important to make sure that you can get it through your doorways and up any staircases. The armchairs in most homes are only about 12-14 inches wide, so this shouldn’t be a problem for most people. The height of each chair will depend on how high off the floor it needs to be, but typically they are around 28-30 inches from the ground. Most importantly, though, is checking how long your sofa or couch is and then making sure that you can fit both pieces together next to one another without either one being too close or too far away from the other.

2) Consider your style

Do you want a recliner that offers lumbar or head and neck support? If so, be sure to look for a recliner with adjustable features and side bolsters.  An armchair recliner should also have enough space to fit your frame and ensure there is room left over when you are seated comfortably.

It is important that your armchair has a comfortable seat cushion as well as backrest padding in order to make it more enjoyable.

Armchairs should have a high back, if possible, but not one that goes up too high where it will block your view of the TV. The last thing you want is an armchair recliner with only an L-shaped armrests.

3) Go for comfort

Firstly, you need comfort. That’s right, you want your new armchair recliner to keep you comfortable for hours on end. And what’s even better is that they come in a variety of styles and sizes so no matter your taste or preference, there will be something out there for you. Secondly, make sure it fits! Nothing will make your new armchair recliner seem like a waste of money faster than if it doesn’t fit in the space allotted for it. Thirdly, make sure it has all the features you’re looking for such as USB ports and footrests with an adjustable height. Fourthly if you have set your square dining table for 6 in your living room, or it is partly at the side with wall, you better keeping the color and design scheme in mind to complement your armchair recliner.

4) Choose the right fabric

Different fabrics have different qualities and might be better suited for your needs. For instance, if you’re looking for a casual chair that will get regular use, you might want to go with a fabric that is durable and resistant to staining like cotton or polyester blends. If you’re looking for something more formal, then velvet or linen would be perfect. And if you’re looking for comfort over all else, then a leather recliner may be right up your alley!
