Travelling to the Super Bowl? Here’s what you need to know

Every February the biggest sporting event in the United States comes around and people from across the country and from around the world tune in to watch the NFL Super Bowl.

But the Super Bowl is not something that can just be watched on television for many. No matter where in the world they are, people flock to the US to travel specifically to watch the Super Bowl live, or even just to experience the atmosphere of the city.

Each year Super Bowl betting at a sportsbook is available and wagers will be made throughout the season. But once the two sides are declared after winning the divisional rounds, there is more match specific, and player centred.

For the 2020 Super Bowl the city of Miami braced itself for more than 150,000 out-of-state fans coming to the city to experience the Super Bowl and its associated activities. With a capacity of around 65,000 at the Hard Rock Stadium, that meant a lot of tourists just there to experience the build-up.

Its vital to plan early and book early, hotels and entrance to venues will be limited and often require pre-booking so it is vital to be prepared and plan out your visit in advance.

The Super Bowl is like no other sporting event, it is America’s showpiece event that sees the AFC Champions and NFC Champions take the field to decide the NFL Champion. The celebrations and build up, though, do not just start on the day of the game.

Tens of thousands of people will descend upon the hosting city to take part in the entertainment that comes along with the NFL. The week-long festivities leading up to the match itself include a variety of games, events and concerts.

Former players are often in attendance doing signing session and at times participating in Q&A sessions for NFL fans to get to know more of the personal side of their heroes.

Here you can take part in activities based on the different roles of players on an NFL player. You can kick field goals, test your passing accuracy or weaving through obstacles like a running back. Along with all this you can navigate a Combine Obstacle Course and learn what it’s like to train as an NFL player.

The Super Bowl does not just revolve around the game. The half time show has become one of the most talked about music events every year and the excitement for who will play builds all the way up to its announcement.

Some of the biggest stars in music have performed at half time of the Super Bowl, including Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga and Janet Jackson. The most recent performance in 2021 was by The Weeknd.

In 2022, five rap and R&B legends will take the stage. Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blidge and Kendrick Lamar will be providing the show which for music fans is something well worth the money, let alone the game itself!

This is the biggest match in sports within the US, and to many around the world. The players who have made it to the final have proven themselves to be the best of the best. The quality on display is of the highest standard and the game itself is a spectacle to be enjoyed.

To win is everything, there is no next game, so fans can enjoy the spectacle of two amazing sports teams compete to prove they deserve to be called the best.

SoFi Stadium will host the Super Bowl in 2022 and is one of the most modern and impressive stadiums ever to host it. Caesar’s Dome in New Orleans has been one of the favorite places to host a Super Bowl. It has hosted seven Super Bowls already and the city itself was a big draw as much as the stadium itself.

Another venue popular is Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, again for the draw of the city as much as the venue. For people to come to Miami and enjoy the sun and fun of the city as well as the game is a perfect combination, and it is a city ready for the large numbers of tourists who come with the Super Bowl.

The MetLife Stadium was host of the 2010 Super Bowl and the unprecedented excitement of the Super Bowl to be in New York. It is a city of mass appeal and the destination for many tourists every year even without an event like the Super Bowl. The weather may be a little different to Miami and LA, but this doesn’t put off the fans who went to experience how New York hosted a Super Bowl.

Wherever the Super Bowl is hosted, there will be so much for the NFL fan to enjoy throughout the week. It all culminates with the biggest sporting event of the year in the US and is something for any sports fan to enjoy.
