Co-ordinating Your Dog’s Accessories with Your Home Design Aesthetics

We all have a certain way that we like our homes to look. Walk in to one house and you may find ‘organised chaos’ and, although  some are happy to throw everything together however they please, there are others who want to make sure that their homes look as put-together as possible. It may be a minimalist modernist style; it may be classic farmhouse chic or an industrial vintage style. Here are some of the most sensible choices you can make when trying to co-ordinate the items your pet needs the most with your own personal home design aesthetics.

Choose Several Colours

The easiest way to start things off is to pick three colours to construct your home design aesthetic from. A good rule of thumb is to pick one neutral and two brights, colours which will work in unison to seamlessly tie everything together. For example, you might pick an earthy sandy neutral, a deep turquoise, and a bright warm yellow. If you were then decorating your living room in these colours, you could keep the neutrals on the walls and floors, pick bright turquoise armchairs and sofas, and then have yellow accents like cushions and blankets.

Additionally, you can work in some accessories like lamp shades, wall art and ornamental pieces in contrasting colours to add depth to the room. This is an easy way to give the eye places to rest within your room and can quickly create a cohesive interior design style. Invest in single color dog blankets as these could be a great way for you to find a pet bed that matches your colour theme instead of standing out from it. Always include all accessories, whether human or animal, in your interior design plans.

Pick Quality Always

When trying to decorate based around a certain aesthetic, you may end up feeling like there is nothing out there that matches your styles. As a result, you may be tempted to choose something that is a little cheaper and more poorly made as it will fit in with your chosen aesthetic. However, in doing so you could end up with a result in you receiving a substandard product that will not stand up to the test of time.

It might take you a little more research to track down the bits and pieces which will complete your design style. However, you should be able to find what you are looking for if you take your time and have the patience to seek them out. Make it part of the adventure; life should be about having fun, so make your search as much fun as possible.

There are lots of options online that will fit your aesthetics; you might just have to look in some unusual places to find them. Start with the Internet but, to get the most fun out of your search, antique, bric-a-brac and second hand stores really can turn up some fabulous finds, without a huge price tag as a bonus. Now that would be a result – fun and saving money and the sense of achievement all go hand in hand.

DIY It

Can’t find a dog bed you like? Do you have an artistic, creative side? If so, why not consider building your own from scratch? There are hundreds of examples of people taking on the challenge of creating their own dog beds and other furniture for their pampered pooches to enjoy.

Even if you have never made anything in your life before, you should be able to find a pretty straight-forward tutorial.
