Are You Ready to Boss 2020?

The beginning of the year, or decade, is a great time to reflect on your life, abandon any negativity, and surround yourself with positive vibes only. Changing your mindset is one way to start the new year off more positively; but what’s the best way to go about this?

Reassess your social circle

Whether you have a full social calendar, or a more modest one, the people that you spend time with have a big impact on you and your happiness. Many people find that they say yes to doing things that they don’t really want to do, or spend time with people who can have a negative effect on them. If this is you, then you need to reassess your social circle, surround yourself with people that make you feel good and cut out the people that don’t.

Explore mindfulness and spirituality

If you are serious about increasing the positivity in your life, it makes sense to pick up some hobbies that help you to learn more about this. Mindfulness, meditation, and other spiritual activities can help you to find greater meaning. Alternatively, you might find psychic readings are helpful in guiding you to make decisions and introduce changes in your life for the better.

Due to the growing popularity of spirituality, there are loads of beginner classes for all types of areas to help you to get started. It can also boost your social life, giving you even more reason to give it a go.

Exercise outdoors

Exercising more often will give you plenty of positive energy, from gaining a mood boost from the production of endorphins, to feeling better about your health and appearance. If you exercise outdoors, then you are getting a double hit, as experiencing nature has also been linked to the release of endorphins, and a bit of fresh air never hurt anyone.

Research shows that spending time outdoors gave people higher levels of vitality. If you don’t fancy taking part in energetic exercises, then a walk outdoors is still very good for you. You also get an extra hit of Vitamin D from healthy exposure to the sun that brings lots of positive health benefits too.

Eat for your mood

What you eat has a significant impact on how you feel, and eating the wrong foods can make you extremely sluggish and tired. Give your diet an overhaul by choosing healthier foods that have mood-boosting effects. For example, foods that are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, leafy green vegetables, foods containing vitamin D, and nuts are all great food types that can help to improve your mood.

Drinking too much caffeine or alcohol can also significantly affect your mood in the longer term, and both should only be consumed in moderation. Processed items and those that are high in fats can also make you feel devoid of energy and often less happy within yourself.

Have a clear-out

Having a good clear out at home or tidying up your workspace can also really help to clear your mind. So, start your spring clean early, get rid of any old things that you no longer need. Take those clothes you no longer wear to a charity shop and de-clutter as much as you can.

If your surroundings feel tidy and clean, then this will transfer over into how you are feeling. If you have been storing items that you really don’t use or need, now could be a good time to have a clear-out – or even sell some online to make a little extra money to treat yourself!

Review your career plans

Whether your career is fully on track, or you dread Monday mornings, it is always good to review your career plans at least once a year. You spend most of your life either working or sleeping, so enjoying your job is just as important as having a comfortable bed! If you have a career that you are happy with, you should still be thinking about how to get to the next step and set yourself goals, outlining what you need to do (training, gaining experience etc.) to achieve your goals.

If you are in a situation where you do not feel fulfilled with your job, then it could be a good time to plan a change of career in order to make yourself happier in life. You should do some research about what jobs you could be suited to based on your interests, experience, and skills, or even think about re-training for a different type of career path.

If you take on some of these tips then you are on the first step towards totally bossing 2020 and beyond.
