15 More Celebrities to Follow On Twitter 2012

It’s finally happened. Betty White (@BettyMWhite) has joined Twitter. A while back, I came up with a list of fifteen celebrities worth following on Twitter but Betty White was not on that list so it was clearly incomplete. Instead of just recycling the same names from the last list and tacking Betty on there somewhere, I’ve come up with this list of fifteen morecelebrities you should follow on Twitter with a few extras thrown in here and there for good measure. Enjoy and remember, you can follow me on Twitter too. Just hit up @Girl_In_Stereo.

15: Keegan Allen (@KeeganAllen)

I have to admit, there’s a pretty good chance I’ve put Keegan on this list because I absolutely adore him. He is a lot of fun on Twitter, though – sharing lots of behind the scenes pictures from the set of Pretty Little Liars and playing around with his co-stars. He’s a cutie and he’s definitely worth a follow.

14: Michael Ian Black (@michaelianblack)

I love Michael Ian Black. He makes me laugh and his completely random tweets almost always make me smile. That counts for a lot. In coming up with the list for this article, I had a rather lengthy debate as to whether or not Michael Ian Black is actually famous. As far as I’m concerned yes, yes he is and he has one of those blue “verified” checkmarks beside his name which can always be counted on to tell you who is and who isn’t important on Twitter.

13: Zach Braff (@zachbraff)

I have a bit of an imaginary love affair going on with Zach Braff. I thought that was worth mentioning before I start writing about why you should follow him. If I had to pick one thing I love most about Zach, it would be his ability to make me laugh even though I’m not entirely sure what he’s tweeted was intended to be comedic. The guy is just adorable. He’s the kind of adorable that makes puppies, well, slightly less adorable. Follow him. You won’t regret it.

12: Joseph Morgan (@JosephMorgan)

I adore Joseph Morgan. I adore Joseph Morgan to the point that I’m not sure if I’m continue to watch The Vampire Diaries should Joseph’s hybrid, Klaus, find himself on the receiving end of one of those white oak stakes. Not only is Joseph gorgeous and talented but he also seems to be a genuinely down to earth kind of guy, often tweeting with or retweeting fans when he’s able to. His Twitter feed is filled with the usual Twitter stuff but also includes a healthy dose of behind the scenes TVD stuff. Definitely worth following regardless of whether or not you’re into the show.

Also check out Joseph’s The Vampire Diaries co-stars:

11: Russell Brand (@rustyrockets)

I know there are a lot of people out there who don’t get Russell Brand. I am not one of those people. I think he’s hilarious but I also think he’s brilliant. If you’ve ever read some of his more thoughtful writings you may know what I’m talking about. His Twitter feed is more comedy than anything else but it’s still definitely worth checking out. It may not be your cup of tea but I would recommend giving it a shot.

10: Blake Shelton (@blakeshelton)

Blake is awesome. He is who he is and that makes his Twitter feed a blast to read. When I’m feeling down and want a good laugh, I often head over to Blake’s Twitter page to catch up on anything I might’ve missed and it always manages to put a smile on my face. He might find himself the subject of controversy on occasion because of the things he sometimes tweets but that’s part of the fun. Most importantly, Blake always comes across as a genuinely down to earth guy who’s willing to tweet with his fans when he has the chance.

09: Courtney Love (@Courtney)

I have been a Courtney Love mega-fan since junior high and although there are a whole lot of times I worry about her sanity, health and general well being I can’t deny her Twitter feed is one of the most interesting on Twitter. She’s never, ever learned how to keep things to herself. When she has a thought, she feels the need to share it. Does that get her in trouble? Constantly. Does it make her interesting? Definitely.

08: Denis Leary (@denisleary)

Before I even start, I will recognize this one, unavoidable truth – Denis Leary is the kind of person you either love or hate. Sometimes I’m not sure which side of that I fall on but he is always good at getting a strong reaction out of people. There is a fine line between love and hate anyway, right? I love Denis’ Twitter feed. His jokes can be a little hit or miss most of the time but the ones that actually make me laugh make me laugh hard. If you follow Denis, it’s almost guaranteed you will be offended by one of his tweets at some point in time but that’s what’s great about Denis and that’s what makes his Twitter feed worth following.

07: Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais)

Ricky is one of my favorite celebrity tweeters. I can’t even lie. Sometimes his tweets are surprisingly insightful. Sometimes they’re offensive. Other times they display his trademark biting wit. His best tweets combine all three factors for an offensive, yet thoughtful tweet that makes you laugh, even if it is one of those guilty “Oh that’s awful” laughs, which, in my humble opinion, is the best kind.

06: James Franco (@JamesFrancoTV)

I know James was on my last top celebrities to follow on Twitter list but he also quit Twitter and returned to Twitter since that list was published. I’m loving his return even though, if I’m being honest, I don’t see much of a difference. All the same, great to see him back. I missed his tweets. Always unique and always entertaining – just like James.

05: Lisa Lampanelli (@LisaLampanelli)

They call her the Queen of Mean for a reason. Every single thing I said about Denis Leary goes double for Lisa. She is probably the single most offensive person I follow on Twitter but that is honestly what I love about her most. She offends everyone. That’s kind of her thing. If you find yourself reacting strongly to one of her tweets remember this, it is her job to get under your skin. She’s an insult comic, after all. And for the record, I did not put her on this list because she’s following me. I put her on this list because she deserves to be on it. Her Twitter feed is hilarious. Just try not to take it too seriously.

04: Tyler Shields (@tylershields)

Tyler Shields is one of the most, if not the single most, provocative celebrity photographers of his generation. His photographs are stunning, creative and always unique. That’s what makes him such an interesting artist. Every time he tweets a link to his work, I click it – always knowing it’s going to be something brilliant. While he is a controversial figure, there is always a message if you’re willing to look for it. Follow Tyler to get a glimpse of his newest photos or to just enjoy his unusual perspective on beauty and life in general.

03: Alec Baldwin (@AB)

Although Mr. Baldwin has been tweeting for a while now, I only started following him after I made my last list. If that hadn’t been the case, he would have been on that list for sure. I love Alec and a big part of the reason for that (beyond the fact that he’s an oddly sexy man and a talented actor) is the fact that he isn’t afraid to speak his mind. His tweets often land him in trouble but he also isn’t afraid to engage in a good natured conversation with his followers on occasion. He’s a great example of how celebrities can use Twitter to connect, to speak out and to entertain.

02: Roseanne Barr (@TheRealRoseanne)

Roseanne has never been one to shy away from controversy and that’s one of the things I’ve always loved and admired about her. She’s a smart, outspoken woman and her Twitter feed is often a great source of information and entertainment. I don’t always agree with the things she says but I respect the guts it takes to speak openly and honestly. Some folks may look at her as a bit of a nutter but I look at her as one of the most interesting figures in the entertainment industry and feel she’s a refreshing change from the typically polished, always PC celebs in the entertainment industry.

01: Kurt Sutter (@sutterink)

I included Ryan Hurst on my last list of the top celebrities to follow on Twitter but somehow I overlooked Kurt. If you love Sons of Anarchy, you’ll love Kurt’s Twitter feed. Casual fans of the show probably know Kurt as the man behind Auto, SAMCRO’s long suffering man inside. Diehard fans know Kurt as the creative force that drives the show. Without Kurt, there would be no SOA. His Twitter feed will almost certainly offend you at some point in time but that’s what makes Kurt such an interesting person.
