This is quite possibly the weirdest homage we have seen to do with the death of the Fashion icon Alexander McQueen who died in February this year. We are not sure if this apprehension is due to the fact that Tyra Banks is now associated so much with reality TV shows, such as Top Model, but these images of her dressed as a queen in flamboyant costumes do somehow seam pretty bizarre, and a little too way out for Banks officially mainstream image.
Tyra Banks said of McQueen “I was devastated. Not only was he one of my favorite designers, he was someone that I had been lucky enough to meet and was a wonderful human being. The day that he passed the world lost a truly amazing person”
She had wanted to pay the designer a unique tribute so decided to use his H2T McQueen range as this she thought showed him at his best, it is meant to show the clash of old monarchy fashions meeting new royal looks. She said that she hoped that wherever he was that he liked the tribute and knew just how everyone in the fashion community thought of him as part of fashions royal family.
