Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are Fine! Stop Worrying!

The Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart dating rumors started right around the time the first Twilightmovie hit theaters. Those rumors persisted for months with neither star either confirming or denying they were in a relationship. Confirmation finally came months later in the form of a blurry, out of focus picture of a stolen kiss as the couple got into a cab. It was everything Robsten fans had been waiting for. That is about the time the Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart break up rumors began. This article isn’t about the rumors though. I don’t deal in rumor and speculation. Instead, I’m here to tell you that together or apart, married or divorced, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are just fine.

In Their Career

Rob and Kristen have nothing to worry about when it comes to their respective careers. I doubt you’ll ever see them partner up on the big screen again after The Twilight Sagacomes to its close but I think that’s for the best. They need to escape the Edward/Bella roles that have thrust them into the spotlight and no matter what roles they played, if they teamed up for another movie, many people would automatically think of those two characters.

Kristen has a solid indie career behind her that she’s continued to cultivate with movies like The Runaways, The Cake Eaters, In the Land of Women, Into the Wild and Welcome to the Rileys while The Twilight Saga was still filming. She seems eager to hold on to her low budget roots, starring next as Marylou in the big screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s seminal On the Road, Kristen will share the screen with Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley, Tom Surridge as well as Hollywood heavyweights like Steve Buscemi, Viggo Mortensen and Amy Adams.

With her decision to sign on to another major Hollywood franchise, Snow White and the Huntsman, as part of an all star cast that includes Chris Hemsworth as The Huntsman, Charlize Theron as The Evil Queen, Nick Frost as Tiberius and Lily Cole as Greta, Kristen also seems to be showing she isn’t afraid to commit to more high profile work. She’s a smart woman and makes smart career choices. This is a girl that knows what she’s doing and knows what she needs to do to have a long and successful career.

A lot of people worry about what will happen to Robert Pattinson once The Twilight Saga comes to its close but those people need to relax. While he faces more of an uphill battle than Kristen because he didn’t quite have the name recognition she did before Twilight, Robert Pattinson isn’t making his career choices by accident. He’s smart like Kristen is smart. Before Twilight was released to theaters, Rob was building a resume of more independent films like How to Be and Little Ashes but it was really his first post Twilight movie, Remember Me,  that garnered him attention as a serious actor.

Since Remember Me, movies like Water for Elephants and the upcoming Bel Ami seem to be keeping him moving forward. These roles are serious, adult roles and with them, Rob is proving he can hold his ground with Hollywood heavyweights. Instead of taking easy money projects, Rob goes for roles that give him the chance to show what he can really do. Water for Elephants was a big movie for Rob. It was his big chance and while it wasn’t a box office smash like the Twilightmovies, it brought respectable numbers and overall favorable reviews.

Cosmopolis is going to really say a lot about where Rob’s career is headed. Directed by Hollywood legend David Cronenberg (Eastern Promises, A History of Violence, Crash and Naked Lunch) and staring Jay Baruchel (Almost Famous, The Rules of Attraction, Million Dollar Baby, Knocked Up), Paul Giamatti (Saving Private Ryan, Sideways, Cinderella Man, The Hawk Is Dying), Kevin Durand (3:10 to Yuma, Lost, Robin Hood, I Am Number Four) and Juliette Binoche (The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Wuthering Heights, The English Patient, Chocolat, Dan in Real Life), Cosmopolisis Rob’s chance to really prove himself and prove he’s far more than just Edward Cullen.

If both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart focus on varied film roles and distancing themselves from their Twilightroles, they have the talent to really make solid and lasting careers for themselves. Neither of them seem afraid of hard work. But I know that’s only part of what people want to know about Rob and Kristen so let’s move on to Robsten.

In Their Personal Lives

So by now, we all know Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are a couple but what no one seems to be able to agree on is whether or not these two crazy kids are in it for the long haul. I’m not even going to venture a guess on this one. They seem like the real deal but they’re also very young, very busy people. Here’s what they have working in their favor.

They have a lot in common.

Rob and Kristen share a lot of the same interests and I’m sure there’s rarely a lack of things to talk about between the two of them. They both love music and have been spotted out and about taking in various concerts together. On top of that, they’re both musicians. They can write songs together or play their favorite songs together. Match made in heaven? Maybe. Maybe not, but having things in common can definitely make a relationship a lot more successful.

They’re both busy.

Working in the same industry and keeping similar busy schedules keeps them apart a lot for sure but distance makes the heart grow fonder and being that a hectic work life is also something they have in common, they better understand that they need to make the most of their time together since they don’t have much of it. That kind of understanding can definitely make a long distance kind of relationship work.

They have experience with the tabloid press.

While in the beginning, I’m sure tabloid rumors about other women and men might have caused problems, by now these two are pros at dealing with the mud the tabloids like to sling. They’ve learned not to trust what the tabloids say and that has undoubtedly made their relationship stronger. Without that stress on them, they have a much better chance of making things work.

They’ll be fine regardless of what happens between them.

Breakups suck. Anyone that’s ever been through one can tell you that. With that said, Rob and Kristen are young, successful and seem fairly grounded. It would be sad to see them go their separate ways but if things should go that way, they’ll both be okay. I have a feeling these two will remain in each other’s lives regardless of whether or not there’s a continued romantic relationship. They’ve gone on a crazy journey together and that will bond them together in ways few of us can understand.

Fans need to understand that Bella and Edward are fictional characters whereas Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are real people. They have thoughts, emotions and feelings. They’re just like you and me. While there is something inherently romantic about these two finding love off screen as well as on, no one has the right to demand it. If you love them, support them and stop prying into their personal lives. That’s part of the job but it’s not one we, as true fans, need to partake in.
