Cancers which are Unique to Women

When we hear the word cancer we all get sacred beyond limits and when we realize that we or someone we know suffers from it the first thought to cross our minds is that he will have to undergo lot of pain and painful treatments and the chances that he will survive are less. Rather than living with this myth we all need to raise awareness about the disease so that the prevention and cure are possible. Women need to know about their body and what all can be affected and thus take care of it properly.

There are certain kinds of cancer which are unique to women and are only found in them. Due to their biological conditioning and body make up these cancer conditions only affect women. There are many cancers which affect both men and women but some only affect women. One such cancer is breast cancer. This is very unusual in men and is commonly found in women. Another type is that of cervical cancer in which cancer affects the cervix. This is unique to women as men do not have a cervix. Carcinoma is the cancer which affects the lining of any human organ. Cervical cancer and breast cancer are cases of carcinoma.

When a woman is diagnosed with HPV i.e. Human Papilloma Virus, most of the cases of cervical cancer develop as per studies. It is always better that cervical and breast cancer is detected in the early stages so that the treatment can begin immediately and any complications are avoided. In cervical cancer the complications can happen when the cancerous cells spread to the vagina. If the treatment is not started in time the cancer can spread to other parts of the body which can prove to fatal. When the cancer spreads throughout the body there is nothing much that can be done by a doctor and at this stage the cancer is in the terminal phase.

When the cancerous cells spread to other parts of the body and this can cause serious complications like tumour in the urinary passage. There are also cases of an obstruction in rectum which are found when the cells spread. Skin tumours are also caused when the cervical or breast cancer affects the lymphatic system of the human body. Another type of cervical cancer which affects the lower part of the vagina of a woman is metastases.

Vaginal bleeding, bleeding during sexual intercourse, pain etc are the symptoms of cervical cancer. On the other hand the symptoms of breast cancer are pain, abnormal enlargement of breasts, solid formations is breast and pale skin. When women are between the age of 40 and 50 years pose a higher risk of having cervical cancer. The chances of the development of cervical cancer develop with genital complications. When a woman has a complex condition of herpes has a higher risk to be affected by cervical cancer at some point in her life thus needs to be careful and it is always advisable that she regularly get her tests and checkups done.

There are many researches and studies that have been conducted and prove that if a woman has a sexual intercourse at any early stage in life the chances that she will develop cervical cancer in her mid life are high. Also woman who have multiple partners and are very sexually active also have a higher risk to develop cervical cancer. Frequent pregnancies and abortion and also excessive smoking are also risks which can lead to the dangerous cancer.

With the help of screening tests the breast and cervical cancer can be diagnosed. By getting the screening tests regularly one can keep a check on the development of any cancer and in this way all possibilities of complications are avoided as the cancer can be diagnosed in early stages of cancer. All doctors say that all women should get a screening test done annually as it is the best way to detect cancer. Pap smear is the most popular screening test.

The conventional treatments for cancer are radiation, chemotherapy, hysterectomy, surgery or removal of lymph nodes and removal of ovaries. When the ovaries are removed the woman can become infertile. There are many alternative treatments for women who can improve response of the body to cancer by adopting a holistic approach. There are many ways to treat cancer apart from the damaging ones. Intake of vegetables, fruits, sprouts, beans etc should be encouraged. Nutritious food in the form of juices and raw foods are very essential for the body as they ensure sufficient enzymes and antioxidants and also other important powerful and pure nutrients. The by-products of the cells are reduced which can cause cancer. There have been many successful stories where people suffering from cancer made changes in their diet and also in the way they prepared the food and have successfully been able to fight the disease without the conventional treatments.

Apart from taking care of the diet one also has to learn to treat the body in a different way. There are many forms of yoga which can be practised as these combat life threatening diseases and reduce the stress level in the body. Meditation and yoga can regulate the way they breathe which also helps heal the body. One has to learn to use their body to heal it.

Breast cancer and cervical cancer are found in many women throughout the world. Cervical cancer can be life threatening and be a major obstacle in life. Women need to be careful and get themselves checked regularly so that god forbid there is any symptom it is detected in time and treatment is done before any complications arise. Tests are important as they give the correct picture as many times no one realizes the symptoms. Proper care in diet and exercise and a healthy living will always ensure that the body is functioning normally. We do not need to be scared of cancer, what we all need to do is to become aware and increase awareness.
