Paleo diet has been picked up by many experts all around the world as the best diet to be followed in order to stay healthy all your life. Inspired by the diet of cavemen of the Paleolithic period, the Paleo diet guides you into a healthy and fitter future.
A diet that mainly consists of all natural foods like fruits, vegetables, berries, meat, eggs and fish, it is said to be the most ideal way to eat for a healthy living. It stays aloof from all harmful toxins like preservatives, processing, hydrogenated oils, fats and also items like grains and dairy products. Thus, it provides us with loads of energy, with the right amount of vitamins, oils, proteins, carbohydrates and other nutrients. Since they are in their natural, unprocessed form, they are extremely beneficial for our body and health.
We all know how important a breakfast is in our daily diet. It literally means to break the fast which we go through all the night. It is a very crucial factor that affects our body and mind for the rest of the day. Hence, it is very important to ensure that the right foods are taken in your breakfast, which will give you energy, the essential nutrients and will boost you up for all activities round the clock.
The Paleo diet too, lays emphasis on the breakfast. Considering the foods allowed under the Paleo diet, your breakfast can be drafted to consist of food items as mentioned here forth:
- Eggs (they are a must!)
- Meat (in less quantities)
- Vegetable salads
- Fresh fruits
- Some nuts (avoid cashews and peanuts)
All these stuff can be mixed and matched to create wonderful recipes on your breakfast palate. Here are two tasty ideas-
- Fruit n Egg smoothies:
Now this is a delicious, heart warming recipe and it will surely keep you on your feet actively for hours at a stretch. It has loads of energy and juices for your body. It is very easy to make and great to consume. With a different fruit or berry each day, you can never be bored of this one!
All you have to do is put a fresh fruit or a few berries into the blender, add very little water and a raw beaten egg to it. It is preferable to use organic eggs and you can also try different eggs like those of ducks or ostriches. Since we are going to avoid sugar under the caveman’s instructions, we will be using honey instead. Blend this mixture and pour it into a bowl or glass. Top it up with a berry and gulp it down. It is optional but you can also add crushed nuts to this smoothie. A guaranteed recipe to a fresh start for the day!
- Veggie egg pancakes:
If you were wondering, how you would be, without your beloved pancake, you need not really worry. We have a great recipe under Paleo criteria for a pancake too.
Beat two raw eggs and add little cinnamon powder and very little salt to it. You might add a spoonful of apple sauce and vanilla essence to this. Pour this on a heated pan and roast your pancake to beautiful golden brown. On to the plate you can spice up this pancake with vegetable salads and nut butter. This is a very tasty dish to have in the morning.
- The milk substitute:
If you love milk, Paleo diet does not allow the dairy milk. However you can find a substitute in coconut milk. Blend it with honey, vanilla and drink for a filling morning beverage. However, this should not be routinely followed. Thrice a week is a fine limit.
The simplest form of breakfast is scrambled eggs with lots of veggies and a fresh fruit with nuts and honey. Breakfast is very simple under the Paleo diet and is in fact a very ideal way to start your routine Paleo diet. Starting with the breakfast, you can gradually develop taste for it and add meals to follow a complete Paleo lifestyle.
